Installing a Leviton 4-Way Dimmer with Remotes

We've had a whole heap of questions this month about Leviton dimmer set ups. One of the big questions that I'd like to address - which switch should someone have in the 4-way position when using an ATE06-1LE Acenti dimmer?
You would team this dimmer with two AT00R-1LE Acenti remotes (also called "slave" units). So here there is a total of three switches. By using this particular remote model number, you're getting two matching remotes that look identical to the ATE06-1LE. You also need to make sure everything is set up correctly with these Acenti switches. Any installer should always:
- Have a neutral wire at all switch locations.
- Know the proper location for the dimmer in this operation. The dimmer needs to feed to the load.
For more info, I'd recommended reading through Leviton's installation manual for Acenti devices here. Diagram 10 on Page 11 lays out this 4-way setup in good detail.
Just a note here as well. I'm using the catalog numbers for Leviton's new Acenti line. The original Acenti devices in this case are ACE06-1LE (dimmer) and ACE06-1LE (remotes). These original devices are being phased out pretty quickly, but OneStopBuy.com has been purchasing these and will keep doing so for as long as we possibly can. Head over to the site and buy now if you require the previous design! It's difficult to say how long they'll last. POST COMMENT
