Acenti and Decora Color Matches
Author: Chris B Posted Date: 10/7/2008 4:25:21 PM I've encountered a number of customers wanting to know about similarities between Acenti and Decora colors. They have different names, of course, but most of the color tones are virtually the same. They're so close that only an unusually discerning person could ever detect any difference. Here's a table I made for quick and easy reference: Acenti (matte finish) Decora (glossy finish) Alabaster White Natural Almond Onyx Black Slate Gray Driftwood Ivory Sand Natural (slightly lighter and more yellow) Quartz (more pinkish hue) Natural Cocoa Brown Read Entire PostComments (0) | Leave Comments | Permalink
Installing a Leviton 4-Way Dimmer with Remotes
Author: Chris B Posted Date: 9/4/2008 12:15:19 PM We've had a whole heap of questions this month about Leviton dimmer set ups. One of the big questions that I'd like to address - which switch should someone have in the 4-way position when using an ATE06-1LE Acenti dimmer? You would team this dimmer with two AT00R-1LE Acenti remotes (also called "slave" units). So here there is a total of three switches. By using this particular remote model number, you're getting two matching remotes that look identical to the ATE06-1LE. You also need to make sure everything is set up correctly with these Acenti switches. Any installer should always: Have a neutral wire at all switch locations. Know the proper location for the dimmer in this operation. The dimmer needs to feed to the load. For more info, I'd recommended reading through Leviton's installation manual for Acenti devices here. Diagram 10 on Page 11 lays out this 4-way setup in good detail. Just a note here as well. I'm using the catalog numbers for Leviton's new Acenti line. The original Acenti devices in this case are ACE06-1LE (dimmer) and ACE0 ... Read Entire PostComments (0) | Leave Comments | Permalink
Latest Changes to Leviton's Acenti Dimmer Line
Author: Chris B Posted Date: 8/8/2008 4:14:19 PM Acenti dimmers have changed! It's not an enormous deal but something we'd like to inform new and returning customers about. There has basically been an outward change to Acenti's appearance; nothing in the line's technical design has changed, just the look. Because of this, Leviton will eventually be replacing all original Acenti dimmer models with the updated look. Once the new design is in place, it will of course become the default that will appear in our online Leviton catalog. The good news is that we've bought up as much of these old stock dimmers and remotes as we could. OneStopBuy.com is encouraging customers, especially those who need consistency in renovation projects they may have already started, to take the opportunity to purchase the original design before it is discontinued. We now have both the Original and New designs available for purchase: http://www.onestopbuy.com/Dimmers-12029.asp Read Entire PostComments (0) | Leave Comments | Permalink
A New Color for the Discerning Individual
Author: Chris Bacavis Posted Date: 3/25/2008 4:19:17 PM Leviton has expanded its line of Acenti wiring devices and lighting controls with the addition of a new color, Cocoa. This color blends just as well with today's sophisticated decor. The original shades, in fact - such as Quartz, Sand, and Slate - were made to match the colors of stone flooring and countertops popular in today's upscale homes. Currently the Cocoa color is only available in a few devices such as the electro-mechanical switches, receptacles, wallplates and ACI06-1LC Incandescent Dimmers but the entire product offering should be available by the end of the 2nd Quarter of 2008. Just to relay what Acenti is... The Acenti line offers significant advances in design technology. It is definitely one of the most sleek and stylish device lines out there. Highlights include a signature dimmer switch with return-to-neutral push pads and a soothing blue locator light, an ingenious and exclusive triplex outlet that can accommodate three plugs in the place of the usual two, and wallplates that eliminate dust-collecting webbing on ''multi-gang' ... Acenti Surge Protective Sixplex Receptacle
Author: Tim D Posted Date: 9/22/2006 8:28:26 PM A Leviton exclusive, the industry-leading Acenti Surge Protective Sixplex Receptacle provides surge protection for up to six plugs, eliminating the need for power strips or adapters. The device’s top and bottom outlets are reversed so that low-voltage transformer-style plugs can be inserted without blocking other outlets. Acenti’s geometry allowed Leviton to create this unique device which uses Leviton’s innovative internal buss design. The Sixplex installs easily in a 2-gang wallbox and is ideal for protecting home theatre and home office connections from potentially damaging electrical surges. Today, there are more than 50 microprocessors in the typical modern household, embedded in products such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, televisions and stereos. But each of these can be rendered useless by a power surge. Don't take the risk - protect your investment with Leviton Sixplex Surge Suppression Receptacles. The obvious applications for this receptacle include computer and audio video connection points, but how abou ... Read Entire PostComments (0) | Leave Comments | Permalink
